Les PRECIOSA Rocailles sont le type de rocailles en verre le plus utilisé. Ils ont été créés à Venise, en Italie, au XVe siècle. Ces perles sont produites industriellement en Bohême depuis le 18ème siècle.

Ces perles de rocaille de forme ronde sont fabriquées à l'aide d'une technologie unique permettant de couper des tubes de verre à trous ronds ou carrés en morceaux de différentes tailles qui sont ensuite arrondis et polis à chaud, puis classés par taille et forme.

Les rocailles PRECIOSA sont produites dans des tailles de 1,5 mm à 8 mm et les tailles des perles de rocaille tchèques PRECIOSA sont indiquées en utilisant la série dite zéro traditionnelle. Les tailles régulières vont du plus petit 16/0 au plus grand 1/0, les perles répertoriées ici sont 8/0.
